Evan Turns 7!

Happy Birthday to the big first grader!  He rocks at sports, music, video games, being a "stud muffin" (this amounted to quite a few laughs around here) and chasing Miss Morgan around my living room.  Trying to make him work it for the camera was a piece of cake...and how cool is his guitar?!  He is quite the charmer with his dimples and the only tough thing about shooting him is getting his real smile...his full kilowatt CHEESE smile is tough to miss.  Man if only everybody could smile on command like Evan..I might be out of work ;).

P.S. His sweet little sister popped in for a few shots....ok...she might be the second easiest smiler.  What can I say my friend Mandy has them trained well!!

Lovely Lady {L} turns One!

I know I know...it isn't even February and my new year's resolution has failed...that reminder on my phone didn't do so hot.  It doesn't blog for me!  Good news though...I have a whole bunch of blogs in the works for the next couple of days.  Starting with the Lovely Lady {L}

Turning one is such a huge milestone and capturing it is awesome.  This little one was ever so serious about it!!  Independent and gorgeous she showed me how she can walk, read books and turn on the charm :).  Loved loved her outfit!!  We even managed to get Mom & Dad in a couple of shots....and get this...go OUTSIDE in January.  Pinch me, am I dreaming...is this still Wisconsin?  I'll take it.

Jeromy & Joyce

When you think about Christmas, you think about family, spending a ton of time together and sharing gifts...this family shared in a beautiful reception for two special people...all the way from Singapore!  Jeromy & Joyce were married in a beautiful tropical paradise in Singapore, but flew back here to spend time with Jeromy's family.  A wonderful family that brought me into the picture to capture their wedding celebration!!  Woo Woo!  

It was a little chillier than Joyce would probably have liked but she was a trooper...even venturing outside for me...in December...in 6 inch heels and a thin tropical wedding dress...in Milwaukee is quite a feat!!

Thank you to Jeromy's awesome sister, I had a great time and hope you guys love your pictures :)

I live for the Weekend.

This weekend was everything you can hope for in January...50 degrees, sunlight, blue skies, need I say more.  I will.  I also had a fantastic time hanging out with my beautiful babies.  Saturday was cleaning day...a nice normal family morning.  A photo session with the cute baby {L}.  1 Years Old already!!  Her preview will be up this week.... and a trip to the mall with the family!  Yup.  The mall.  I'm starting their love of shopping young...Morgan even picked out some fabulous new shoes for me.  She offered to buy them for me as well :).  I love that girl!!  Today came and went too fast...but was another great day.  A play date with some of our great friends at the Tree Haus wore my ladies out and gave Mommy some edit time!

Next Blog....Wedding Photos....Woo Woo.  Until then......some of my favorite shots of my girl.  She still talks about Finn everyday.  Every horse is named Finn.  Even new stuffed animals get a version of Finn as their name :).  We were so lucky to get a chance to go to my friends horse farm, I only pray that she is satisfied with her rocking pony she received for Christmas...this momma can't afford a real pony LOL.

Valentine's Day Mini-Session!

So...here it is...as promised.  A second blog this week!  I have been working like a mad woman on editing a wedding reception, and trying to get back into the swing of things after a nice holiday break.   New backdrops came today, it was like Christmas all over again...but no more tree or decorations all over.

I controlled myself and left them wrapped up, the girls weren't in the mood for another session tonight, and I don't think Lenny wanted to do one either.  He isn't the most cooperative when I get the camera out, he thinks its a toy and lunges at me.  I keep saying I'm going to take him to training one of these days.....then maybe he'll sit and stay and learn "Pose".  Until then...

Ok so back to the reason for my posting...my backdrop is HERE....my props are ordered and should be here shortly!  Now I just need to finish booking up some clients for the sessions!!

I know...we just finished Christmas...and recovered from New Year's Eve....but we have to move forward and think SPRING!!

Hi All!

Welcome 2012.  I have been thinking long and hard about resolutions and reflecting on 2011.  What a year...my family lost a beloved friend, Cash, (for those of you that don't know...my silly, slobbery, 3 year old GSD) and my heart broke, then we welcomed a gorgeous little blessing Miss Sydney Elise who makes my heart sing, and continues to light up our lives with her smiles and giggles daily.  She is such a little sweetheart, and couldn't be more treasured by my hubby and I and especially her big sister Morgan!

We (more so I) pushed the envelope and some say might have gone a little crazy and brought a new four legged friend into the picture..Lenny.  He is now 9 months old and a piece of work, but adored by the girls...when he isn't knocking them over, eating their toys, or generally getting in everyone's way...which is easy considering he is HUGE.

I went back to my 9-5 from maternity leave...(very bittersweet) which was acquired by Caterpillar and I'm finding my stride and enjoying the communications world more and more each day.

Shelley Lynn Photography grows more and more, I'm loving all my clients and sessions and can't thank everyone enough for all the support they have shown.  2011 was my busiest year yet, and I can only hope that 2012 continues the trend!!

So....my resolutions for 2012.

focus on my family.cuddle my babies.keep positive.take a family vacation.watch what i eat.exercise more.bed by eleven.(that one might be pretty tough).give 110%.go to church more.have a date with my husband once a month.clean my car regularly.bring the camera everywhere.(had to throw an easy one in here).eat less chocolate.explore more parks.(location location location).shoot shoot shoot.(pictures).offer more mini-sessions throughout the year.

Oh and BLOG!!  I enjoy facebook, but I realize I'm leaving off the personal side of this business and I miss it, I share through my photos, but non-facebookers don't see it, for that I apologize, I am guaranteeing a blog a week for 2012.  I have a reminder set in my fantabulous new iphone...so since it clings to me more than my 2.5 year old, this will get accomplished.
